Mission
Active Minds at St. Bonaventure is a chapter of the national organization that is dedicated to spreading mental health education and awareness. We aim to reduce the stigma surrounding mental illness through organizing local and campus events, promote mental health resources available to students on and off campus, and advocate for campus policies related to mental health by communicating the needs of the student body to campus administration and professors. We organize and share a variety of self-care activities such as going to the SPCA, guided journaling, painting affirmation stones, and creating vision boards and keychains. We hold regular discussions on mental health intersecting with topics such as music, sports, meditation, media/movies, food, cultures, and COVID-19. We are working toward collaborating with other on-campus organizations regarding mental health initiatives and advocating for POC counselors as well. We welcome everyone to join Active Minds and are excited to foster a community of individuals to better the mental health of our community at large.

Mission
The club's main goal is to promote science through outreach activities on campus, in local schools, and at events in surrounding communities. Club members develop and facilitate hands-on activities in order to demonstrate that science is all around us, and that science is fun. Members of this student club are granted access to the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, giving them access to a wide range of newsletters, journals, blogs, classes, video seminars, and more.

Asian Students in Action (ASIA) is an organization for Asian and Pacific Island Americans of all backgrounds, ethnicities, and heritages. The main objectives of ASIA include: - providing an academic, social, political, and cultural support group for Asian and Pacific Island Americans at St. Bonaventure - fostering a brotherhood and sisterhood among the diverse Asian/Pacific ethnicities in the U.S. while bringing awareness to the campus community of a broader understanding of the diverse issues facing people of Asian descent in the United States today

Mission
Bona Buddies is a youth mentoring program where one-to-one relationships are established between St. Bonaventure students and local children, ages 5 to 15. All of these children need the friendship, special attention, and interest of an older person.

These relationships often fill the gap in the life of a youth who needs positive role models and experiences.

Students are asked to give a few hours each week to help make a difference in the life of a child. It’s a great way to get to know others in the community, to help a child, and to have fun.

Students may be eligible to get credit for participating.

Mission
When Hurricane Katrina hit the Golf Coast in 2005, killing more than 1,800 people and leaving millions homeless, a group of nearly 300 St. Bonaventure students, staff and community volunteers embarked on a two-week relief mission to the affected region.

It was the largest service trip in the history of the university, and the birth of BonaResponds, one of the most energetic and exciting student organizations ever assembled.

Open to anyone with a calling to make things better, its mission is simple: to help others through volunteering. BonaResponds answers calls for help from those impacted by major disasters — volunteers traveled to Ohio to help victims of flooding and to Alabama after a deadly and destructive tornado — and from local community members who just need a helping hand.

The Bonaventure Accounting Association (BAA) offers students a wide range of professional and social opportunities for exploring the accounting profession:

-field trips that enable students to study the financial markets
-networking events with Bonaventure alumni working in the accounting industry
-service projects that enable students experience the profession at work, students gain a greater understanding of the field and learn about career possibilities.

The club also sponsors various business seminars on campus during the school year such as the Accountants in Residence Day and Meet the Accountants Night.

This Club will impact St. Bonaventure University by uniting students across different political beliefs and encouraging civil discussion. We hope to teach fellow students that it is ok to have different opinions, but we must remain respectful towards each other and engage in productive dialogue. Political polarization has become very normalized across our country, and we want to do our part to eliminate its impact on the St. Bonaventure community. We are all Bonnies, and we are much more similar than we are different!

In this group, which faculty advisors note is more of a company than a club, students work with businesses and nonprofits through partnerships with such development groups as the Olean Business Development Corp. and Southern Tier West Regional Planning & Development Board.

Students engage with local businesses, mostly startups, that need assistance with such things as budget forecasting, marketing and other crucial business matters.

Students work alongside experienced professionals as they engage with clients, offering marketing and management advice and services.

Student participants cite their involvement in C4 as the major factor in their development as effective communicators, leaders and collaborators.

Empower is a student peer prevention educator group in which peer educators serve as ambassadors for sexual assault, dating/domestic violence, and stalking prevention, and for victim services initiatives for the Division of Student Affairs, the Sexual Assault Prevention & Education program, and for the entire campus community.

Through a variety of peer-led initiatives, peer educators provide education, training, self-reflection and more to students and student groups through a variety of initiatives, such as:

-The Clothesline Project, in which student-designed T-shirts promoting the dignity of each person and the prevention of hate and violence are hung on a clothesline on campus.
-Denim Day, when the campus community is encouraged to wear jeans to show support for survivors of sexual violence.

Enactus is an internationally recognized nonprofit organization that promotes partnership between leaders in business and university students to make a difference in their local communities.

Known as the world's largest experiential platform, Enactus works to create a better, more sustainable world while developing the next generation of entrepreneurial leaders and social innovators.

Enactus bonds teams of students together in order to advance the United Nations' 17 sustainable development goals. More than 72,000 college students are involved in villages, towns and cities around the world, developing and managing aimed at improving lives and strengthening communities.

In running projects that help others, students develop business and leadership skills, as well as a sense of service and responsibility to the community and world around them.

Each January, St. Bonaventure Enactus students undertake an entrepreneurial service trip to the Bahamas. This student-run trip includes business consulting, work with elementary schools, technology expos and Special Olympics programs.

Our work has included:
-teaching 1,800 schoolchildren the essentials of entrepreneurship, global economics, financial literacy and values
-running after-school programs focusing on technology
-conducting evening computer classes for working adults
-installing school computer labs
-painting an entire school building
-assisting in rehabilitating a building into a state-of-the-art distance education/recreation center

St. Bonaventure's recreational Gaming Club began as a hub for competitive Super Smash Brothers 4 players and has expanded significantly with the encouragement of students and the university alike.

Level up in SBU's cutting-edge Game Room!
The Gaming Club has a dedicated gaming space on the second floor of the university's Reilly Center. Known as The Game Room, the space underwent a stunning transformation in 2025.

The area features:

• State-of-the-art gaming setup for SBU competition teams and general student play
• 5 high-performance competition PCs located on a "Battle Ramp" as well as 12 general-use computers
• Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch consoles for general gaming
• Two massive LED walls showcasing gaming action and video footage

The Gaming Club hosts a variety of tournaments, the staple being a bi-weekly Smash Ultimate Tournament. On the off weeks, the club hosts tournaments such as League of Legends, Fortnite, Pokémon Showdown, Mario Kart, NBA 2K and many more.

The club invites players of all skill levels to compete in entry level tournaments and for-glory eliminations alike, catering to every play style at St. Bonaventure.

The club also has a stream account via Twitch where it streams all of its tournaments. In addition to tournament streams, members of the club’s executive board also participate in weekly streams.

The Gold Bar Club is an organization within the Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) unit at St. Bonaventure that raises funds for ROTC activities not involving training.

The club is also involved in community service, such as sponsoring Little League games and volunteering at the student-run Warming House soup kitchen in Olean. We also conduct fundraising in support of the annual ROTC Military Ball.

Membership includes ROTC cadets as well as students who are taking ROTC courses and wish to participate. All students are welcome to join.
